Curriculum

Our course begins by covering all the basics, introducing you in your first year to health, management, research and policy concepts. We’ll give you a comprehensive introduction to the way in which healthcare operates in the UK.

You’ll also start learning about epidemiology, the crucial science that studies the patterns, causes and effects of health and disease conditions in defined populations.

In year two, you’ll study the key principles of management and their application in health and research.

In your final year, you’ll look at more advanced management concepts, explore healthcare financing options and you’ll tackle your own major research project.

These research projects can be far-reaching pieces of work. One of our Health Promotion students researched the reasons for the poor uptake of screening for cervical and colon cancer in Tower Hamlets.
