Entry Requirements

  • A Level: Must include passes at A2 in at least one subject. 
  • BTEC: Extended Diploma (QCF) or Diploma (QCF).
  • International Baccalaureate: Diploma with 24 points including a minimum of 15 points at Higher Level.
  • Other equivalent qualifications accepted by the university.

Note: We would normally expect you to have Grade C in GCSE English and Maths (See below for accepted equivalences)

English Language Requirements:

  • Overall IELTS 5.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in Writing and Speaking; minimum 5.5 in Reading and Listening (or recognised equivalent).

Curriculum

Throughout your first year, you’ll learn how the music industry has developed over time with four core modules that will bring you bang up to date with key concepts, language and music industry history.

In year two, you’ll get into the specifics of the business, with modules that cover accounting and finance, artist management skills, live music and music publishing.

For your final year, you’ll bring your learning together with specialist modules looking at areas such as the online music economy, the legal aspects of the music business and recording companies.

You’ll complete the course armed with knowledge, understanding and a growing network of music industry contacts to help you take your career in whatever direction you want it to go.
