Brighton And Sussex Medical School

Brighton and Sussex Medical School is an equal partnership between the Universities of Sussex and Brighton together with NHS organisations throughout the South East region. The arrangements for the School's governance reflect this approach and students are awarded joint BM BS degrees of both Universities.

The School is fully committed to the principles of Tomorrow's Doctors; we endorse the value of medical education in a multi-professional context, and promote the highest possible standards in our teaching, clinical practice, and research (both fundamental and applied).

Accommodation is provided by both the University of Brighton and the University of Sussex.  The allocation of students to campus accommodation is distributed evenly between the two universities. When you apply for accommodation you do so via the University of Brighton accommodation office, even if you wish to stay on the University of Sussex campus.

BSMS buildings at the University of Sussex include the BSMS Teaching Building, BSMS Medical Research Building, the Clinical Imaging Sciences Centre and the Trafford Centre.

BSMS buildings are situated on both university sites in Falmer, approx. 4 miles (6 km) north east of Brighton city centre and at the Audrey Emerton Centre in central Brighton.
