Bachelor of Technology (Hons) in Industrial Management
About
Industrial Management (IM) focuses on optimizing industrial processes by integrating engineering, business, and management principles. This field plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient interaction of the 4Ms—Man, Material, Machine, and Method—within an organization.
IM students receive a well-rounded education, covering mathematics, humanities, social sciences, industrial engineering, and management. The curriculum emphasizes mathematical models for system analysis, ensuring graduates are equipped to enhance productivity, sustainability, and resource management in industrial settings.
Work-Based Learning (WBL) Option
This programme offers two study paths:
🔹 WBL Path: Students spend 2 years on campus and 1 year in an industry partner’s workplace, gaining hands-on experience under the guidance of industry experts and university faculty.
🔹 Non-WBL Path: Students follow a traditional on-campus learning approach.
UTAR’s Industrial Management programme is accredited by the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT). Graduates can register as Graduate Technologists and work toward becoming Professional Technologists.
