Bachelor of Information Systems (Hons) Digital Economy Technology

The digital economy encompasses economic and social activities driven by digital technology. The UTAR Bachelor of Information Systems (Honours) Digital Economy Technology programme collaborates with industry leaders to equip graduates with essential skills for the evolving digital landscape. The programme focuses on:

• STPM: Grade C (GP 2.00) in any 2 subjects + Credit in Mathematics (SPM/equivalent)**.
• STAM: Grade Jayyid in any 2 subjects + Credit in Mathematics (SPM/equivalent)**.
• A-Level: Grade D in any 2 subjects + Credit in Mathematics (SPM/equivalent)**.
• UEC: Grade B in 5 subjects + Credit in Mathematics (SPM/equivalent)**.
• SAM: ATAR 70 + Grade B in any 2 subjects + Credit in Mathematics (SPM/equivalent)**.
• CPU: 70% Average in 6 subjects + Credit in Mathematics (SPM/equivalent)**.
• IB Diploma: 24 points (excluding bonus) + Credit in Mathematics (SPM/equivalent)**.
• Diploma (Computing, Level 4, MQF): CGPA ≥2.50 (2.00-2.50 requires internal evaluation).
• Diploma (Non-Computing, Level 4, MQF): CGPA ≥2.75 + Credit in Mathematics (SPM/equivalent) OR MEC course required (CGPA 2.50-2.75 requires evaluation).
• TVET Diplomas (DKM / DVM / DLKM): CGPA ≥2.50 + Faculty screening & possible Bridging Programme.
• Foundation (UTAR / Other Institutions): CGPA ≥2.00 + Credit in Mathematics (SPM/equivalent)**.
• Other Equivalent Qualifications: Credit in Mathematics (SPM/equivalent)**.

Note: A credit in Mathematics (SPM/equivalent) is mandatory unless stated otherwise.

English Language Requirements:

• Malaysian Applicants: 

- STPM/UEC/qualifications not fully conducted in English:
- Credit in English at SPM level /

Note: Applicants who do not meet the above English language requirements but obtain a pass in English at SPM level/equivalent must take the English Enhancement Programme and pass English Levels 7 & 8 before joining the Bachelor's degree programme.

• Additional Requirements: 

- Candidates with only a pass in Mathematics at SPM level/equivalent must take and pass the Mathematics Enhancement Course (MEC) before joining the programme.
- Candidates from Foundation/Matriculation/other equivalent qualifications may be exempted from MEC if their admission qualification includes Mathematics subjects higher than SPM Mathematics.
