About
Students enrolled in the PhD (Maritime) program would be able to explore more advanced research topics and be guided toward greater levels of comprehension and thought. This would undoubtedly improve the capacity for research and development. However, PhD (Maritime) graduates would have a better chance of advancing in their current positions or in the maritime industry, such as in government maritime agencies, universities and research institutes, port operators, naval architecture and marine engineering, shipping companies, shipbuilding and ship repair industries, and maritime defense industries. Candidates can complete this program in 3 years by enrolling full-time or in 4 years by enrolling part time.

Entry Level and Requirements
For Local Students
- A master’s degree from Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) or from a recognised university asapproved by the Senate of UniKL.
- Other qualifications equivalent to a master’s degree as approved by the Senate of UniKL.
For International Students
- Master’s degree in a related field as approved by the Senate of UniKL.
- IELTS 5.0-6.5 or equivalent.
