Diploma in Psychology

Our Diploma in Psychology program is structured to produce assistant psychologists who are equipped to address the intellectual, emotional, social, and psychological requirements of individuals. Students undergo training in three key areas: theoretical understanding, industry-based projects, and internship experiences.

Upon completion of this program, graduates will possess the skills necessary to manage resources within the workplace and community to cater to client needs. This adaptable qualification enables graduates to acquire the requisite knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors essential for pursuing a diverse array of career paths within the realm of psychology.

The curriculum is designed to be relevant to industry standards, integrating theoretical knowledge with practical applications in psychology. This program also offers a unique pathway to specialized degree programs in the field of psychology, facilitated by experienced academics with pertinent industry expertise.

Through the APEL initiative, individuals can leverage their prior learning experiences to gain admission, potentially reducing both study duration and associated costs.

• A pass in SPM or its equivalent with at least 3 credits in any subject and a pass in Mathematics and Biology / Physics / Chemistry / General Science / Applied Science* ; OR
• A pass in STPM with a minimum of Grade C (GP 2.00) in any subject and a pass in Mathematics and Biology / Physics / Chemistry / General Science / Applied Science* at SPM level; OR
• A pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum grade of Maqbul and a pass in Mathematics and Biology / Physics / Chemistry / General Science / Applied Science at SPM level; OR
• A Certificate (Level 3, MQF) in the relevent fields with at least CGPA of 2.00 and a pass in Mathematics and Biology / Physics / Chemistry / General Science / Applied Science at SPM level; OR
• Pass Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) (Level 3 MQF) in relevant field (Note: The HEP are required to conduct screening  and provide approriate bridging courses in Mathematics and Biology / Physics / Chemistry / General Science / Applied Science); OR
• Other relevant equivalent qualifications recognised by Malaysian government as equivalent to the above requirements

*Can be waived should any other higher qualifications contain Mathematics and Biology/Physics/ Chemistry/ General Science/ Applied Science subjects with an equivalent/higher
achievement.

Those without a pass/credit in Mathematics and/or Biology/ Physics/ Chemistry/ General Science/ Applied Science at SPM level or equivalent can be admitted but are required to attend special enhancement course(s). These special enhancement courses should be SPM equivalent, remedial in nature. Students must pass/credit the Mathematics and Biology/ Physics/ Chemistry/ General Science/ Applied Science enhancement courses as a prerequisite to related core courses taught in English.
