About

SEGi University’s Master of Laws (LL.M) in Advanced Legal Practice is an innovative postgraduate programme designed to elevate legal professionals to the highest levels of expertise. This rigorous one-year course, accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency and the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia, provides an in-depth exploration of advanced legal principles while equipping students with the skills necessary for a diverse range of legal careers.  

The programme structure includes eight core modules, with the flexibility to select from ten specialised electives, including Business Law & Practice, Advanced Banking Law, and Alternative Dispute Resolution. This tailored approach allows students to customise their education to align with their professional aspirations. The curriculum is strategically designed to develop advanced research capabilities and critical thinking, preparing graduates to tackle complex legal challenges across various sectors.  

SEGi University integrates practical experience into the academic journey through the ‘Industry into Classroom’ initiative. Students gain hands-on exposure to real-world legal cases and projects, working under the mentorship of experienced faculty and industry professionals. This ensures a balance between theoretical knowledge and practical application, enhancing graduates' readiness for the legal profession.

Entry Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in law or Shariah with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 out 4.0 or its equivalent qualification as accepted by the HEP Senate.
  • A bachelor’s degree in law or Shariah below a CGPA of 2.50 out of 4.0 or its equivalent qualification can be accepted, subject to a minimum of 5 years’ working experience.
