About

Social Work is a very rewarding field where each day brings different challenges. However, the process of creating a more cohesive and caring community as a social work associate, helping various communities, and engaging in services such as family and child welfare, disability and elder care, and mental health care can be a very rewarding calling.

The Diploma in Social Work programme is designed with reference to the National Competency Standards for Social Work Practice (2010) to help prepare diploma students to acquire in-depth knowledge of human behaviour within the context of family, community and society with emphasis on ethical values and conduct, contribution toward self-development, and build psychosocial skills.

Upon successful completion of this programme, students will have the experience and ability to empower individuals, families, groups, communities and organisations to enhance social functioning and quality of life. The MCKL graduate will be able to seek employment as a professional Social Worker in various areas that promote universal values and ethical principles of human rights and social justice.
