Master of Clinical Psychology
About
The Master of Clinical Psychology at IMU is a comprehensive postgraduate programme designed to develop competent, ethical, and well-rounded clinical psychologists in Malaysia. This programme equips students with advanced knowledge in psychological assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based interventions to treat a wide range of mental health disorders.
Offered by IMU – Malaysia’s first and most established private medical and health sciences university, this clinical psychology course provides intensive hands-on training through supervised clinical placements, research work, and real-world case studies. Students are prepared to work in diverse settings such as hospitals, private clinics, educational institutions, NGOs, and corporate environments, helping individuals manage and overcome mental health challenges.
Accredited provisionally by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), the programme meets national standards, enabling graduates to register with the Malaysian Allied Health Professions Council (MAHPC) to practice as certified clinical psychologists in Malaysia.
With a curriculum rooted in ethics, cultural sensitivity, and psychological science, the IMU Clinical Psychology programme ensures students are trained to serve across different age groups and communities. In addition, IMU’s close industry ties, experienced faculty, and supportive clinical training environment make it one of the best universities for Clinical Psychology in Malaysia.
