Advanced Diploma in Midwifery Nursing
About
The 6-month full-time programme at IMC is designed for registered nurses who aspire to specialize in midwifery as part of their professional career pathway. This programme is accredited by the Midwifery Board Malaysia (MBM), the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), and the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), ensuring that graduates meet national regulatory standards.
The curriculum equips students with the necessary skills to become safe, competent, and critical-thinking midwives capable of providing comprehensive care during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postnatal period. The programme is delivered by experienced academic staff with expertise in midwifery education and practice.
Upon completion of the training, students are required to sit for the MBM Registration Examination. Those who pass must register with MBM to obtain official certification and practice as professional midwives.
**Career Prospects:**
Graduates of the programme have opportunities to advance in their careers, including holding managerial positions in hospitals and pursuing further education at the master’s and PhD levels in midwifery or related healthcare fields.
