The School of Energy and Chemical Engineering at Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) offers monthly intake research-mode postgraduate programs for students who have completed their Bachelor's or Master's degree and want to advance their studies.
The College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at XMU supports the postgraduate programmes. XMU's Chemical and Biochemical Engineering Department, National Engineering Laboratory for Green Chemical Productions of Alcohols-Ethers-Esters, State-Province Joint Engineering Laboratory of Power Source Technology for New Energy Vehicle, and Engineering Research Centre of Electrochemical Technology are leaders in the field.

Intakes
Entry Requirements
Any of These:
i. A Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline with a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.75
ii. A Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 but below 2.75 will be subjected to rigorous internal assessment
iii. A Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline with a minimum CGPA below 2.50 can be accepted, subjected to a minimum of five years of relevant working experience and rigorous internal assessment
iv. Candidates without a qualification in Chemical Engineering or relevant working experience must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses and meet the minimum CGPA based on i to iii; OR v. Any other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government and accepted by the Senate.

*There are two (2) additional compulsory courses: Chinese 1 and Selected Topics on China. (Students can be exempted from the Chinese 1 course if able to provide at least a credit for the Chinese 1 course from the following national or internationally recognized examinations, e.g. UPSR/ PT3/ STPM/ UEC/ A-Level/ Foundation/ Matriculation/ Diploma/ SPM/ O-Level/ HSK/ etc).
