Entry Requirements

  • Secondary school diploma or an IB diploma
  • One of the following English language requirements:
    • TOEFL with a minimum score of 80 for the Internet-based test, or minimum score of 550 for the paper-based test, or minimum score of 213 for the computer-based test.
    • IELTS with an overall Band Score of 6 or above
    • Grade 4 or above in English for applicants with IB qualifications
    • Grade C in GCSE/IGCSE/GCEOL English
  • Additional documents depending on the programme (reference letter, portfolio or CV)

Curriculum

  • The foundation subjects during Year One include Basic Mathematics I - Calculus and Probability & Statistics, Basic Mathematics II - Calculus and Linear Algebra, Physics I and II, and Freshman Seminar for Engineering.
  • In Year Two, students are provided with broad-based education and training to build a solid background in product design and development. Knowledge about business and marketing is also provided to facilitate the integration of design, technology and business.
  • From Year Three onwards, students mainly study subjects that are related to product engineering, including product design and development as well as marketing.
  • In the Final Year, students can select from a pool of Elective Subjects such as Total Quality Management, Advanced Mould & Die Design, Advanced Manufacturing Technology, Marketing Management in China, Sales Management, Design for Soft Products and New Services, Design in Business for Engineering, Product Innovation and Intellectual Property, and Sustainable Product Design.
