Entry Requirements
- Secondary school diploma or an IB diploma
- One of the following English language requirements:
- TOEFL with a minimum score of 80 for the Internet-based test, or minimum score of 550 for the paper-based test, or minimum score of 213 for the computer-based test.
- IELTS with an overall Band Score of 6 or above
- Grade 4 or above in English for applicants with IB qualifications
- Grade C in GCSE/IGCSE/GCEOL English
- Additional documents depending on the programme (reference letter, portfolio or CV)
Curriculum
- In the first year, students are required to take Foundation Subjects including Calculus I/IA, Freshman Seminar for Engineering, Information Technology, Introductory Linear Algebra/Introductory Probability, Physics I & II, and Physics Experiments.
- In the second year, students are provided with broad-based education and training to build a solid background in product design and development. Knowledge about business and marketing is also provided to facilitate the integration of design with technology and business.
- Starting from the third year, students mainly study subjects that are important in product analysis and engineering design. The subjects include advanced engineering sciences for product development, computer aided technology for product design, design for humanities, product mechatronics and management.
- During the fourth year, students can select from a pool of Elective Subjects such as Project Management, Development of Green Products, Artificial Intelligence in Products, Product Testing Technology, Design for Packaging & No-assembly, Design of Home & Personal Electronic Products, and Design in Business for Engineering. Meanwhile, the final year project is also conducted in this year.
