Campus information

Student Organizations
The primary focus of student organizations at Mercy College is to give you a broader understanding of your chosen profession. State and national organizations exist in most health care professions. Your program chair will have more information about the role that College students can have in the organization. Some Mercy College academic programs send student representatives to state and national conventions for their field of study.

Student Resources
There are many things that make a health science education unique. We have the services and resources you’ll need to make your time here productive, engaging and rewarding. From getting the right uniform for clinical rotations, to understanding where to park and when to wear your security badge, these resources should get you started.

It’s never too early or late to get involved either. Student Senate elections are held in the fall each year and they meet throughout the year to plan activities for student enrichment. In addition, there are a number of professional student organizations and three honor societies affiliated with Mercy College.

Campus Services
There are a number of College staff members ready to help you during your time at Mercy College.

Staff members are available to assist in answering questions about your physical and mental health, provide spiritual guidance on your health science journey, address your academic and technological questions and help you to figure out your financial obligations.

We understand the stress that can overcome you in preparation for an important exam, that’s why we offer a number of free, on-campus academic workshops, tutoring and counseling to help you to succeed. If the stress is more complicated, we can also help you to work through the issues that may be hindering your success or refer you on to other professionals in the community.

The Mercy College of Health Sciences campus is located in Des Moines, just off Interstate 235 in central Iowa. Our campus includes fully equipped classrooms and lecture halls, skills laboratories, student computer laboratories and student lounges, as well as faculty and administrative offices.
