About Lycoming College

Lycoming is a private, four-year, coeducational, Liberal Arts College. Founded in 1812, it is one of the fifty oldest colleges in the United States. There are 1400 undergraduate students from 28 states and 12 foreign countries that call Lycoming home. 80% of Lycoming's students live on campus and are guaranteed housing all four years.

Although Lycoming College is one of the fifty oldest institutions of higher learning in the United States, it is a community with new vitality, ongoing momentum, and a nationally-recognized commitment to quality education.

Campus information

Lycoming's 35 acre campus sits less than two miles from the Susquehanna River, and is also a five minute drive away from the famous Howard J. Lamade Stadium, which attracts thousands of visitors every year for the Little League World Series. Located in a city of 35,000 people, Lycoming is less than two blocks from downtown Williamsport and is only a short drive from the "Golden Strip" and the Lycoming Mall.

Accommodation

Lycoming College believes that campus living is an important part of the college experience and that the learning that occurs in the campus residences is a critical ingredient in the growth, development and education of our students. As a residential college all students are required to live in campus housing and participate in the board (meal) plan all four years. For questions regarding the College Residency Policy or to request an exception to the policy, contact the Office of the Vice President for Student Life.

To obtain housing, each year resident students must complete the following steps before being assigned a living space:

  1. Pay confirmation & room deposit (Freshman/Transfer/Readmitted Students) or enrollment deposit (all Returning Students). For information regarding payments and established deadlines contact the Business Office.
  2. Complete the Housing Agreement online through WebAdvisor.
  • New Students (Freshman/Transfer) who have confirmed admission and paid the confirmation & room deposit will use their  WebAdvisor Log-in and log in on the Orientation section.
  • Currently Enrolled Returning students will use their WebAdvisor Log-in and log in under the Current student section.

New (freshman/transfer) students will be assigned housing by the Office of Residential Life prior to their arrival on campus. Currently enrolled, returning students who wish to select their housing for the following academic year must participate in the housing lottery conducted each spring semester.
