About Chongqing University of Science and Technology

Chongqing University of Science and Technology is a full-time public university of general education with a history of over 60 years and good reputation. It is mainly focused on engineering fields featuring petroleum, chemistry, metallurgy, material science, mechanics, electronics, safety and environmental protection, the breath of its academic endeavor covers sciences, engineering, economics, management, laws, humanities and arts. The institution is characterized by coordinated development of multiple disciplines, prominent competitive advantages in industries and distinctive features in academics, and it holds tremendous potential for further progress.

The institution has a staff of 1512, with over 1000 full time academic faculty, including 481 professors and associate professors, an enrollment of 20, 000 students and the student employment rate upon graduation has remained above 90% in recent years

Chongqing University of Science and Technology is a full-time four-year public university of general education, covering a total area of approximately 140 hectares and 530, 000 meters squared of built up area, with teaching facilities worth 214 million RMB.

Located in Chongqing University Town, Chongqing University of Science & Technology is convenient in transportation, surrounded by beautiful environment and comfortable for living. There are complete sports facilities, and students can use basket ball court, volleyball court and table tennis court for free. Swimming pool and tennis court could be used at low charges.

From the airport, it would take forty minutes to reach the university campus. The university provides pick-up service for international students. Moreover, the university campus is convenient in transportation, as it is located close to the bus stop, about fifteen-minute walks to the subway station.

Additional info

Living expenses is averagely 800RMB yuan RMB per person per month. The overseas students’ apartment has a separate sitting room, a kitchen, a bathroom and two balconies，and other essential facilities, such as toilet, washer, induction cooker and shower, air-conditioner and internet access. Refrigerator and microwave could be shared. Besides the bedroom rates, students should pay for the use of power, water, gas and internet.
