Nikunj Vig – who bagged the CAL Top Achievers Award at Taylor’s College – said the Taylor’sphere ecosystem and community have not only better prepared him for the business world, but also helped his college experience to be more rewarding.
“The vibrant campus life and community have enabled me to further explore my interests as I got to engage in many extracurricular activities, participate in competitions and enlist in clubs and societies which definitely helped me to understand the practical aspects of things,” he said.
Just like Nikunj, students enrolled in Taylor’s College pre-university programmes are backed by the college’s holistic teaching pedagogy, robust pastoral care and student support which can be instrumental in their academic performance as well as their personal development.

“The opportunities here at Taylor’s have aided in the development of my leadership, communication and decision-making skills, which helped us in winning the Australian National University Business Case Study Competition under the guidance of (CAL programme director and principal lecturer) Ms Sujata Devi Nair.
“It was a really tough competition to manage alongside studies as it required intensive research and analysis of important business functions but with the support of Sujata and team, we were able to excel and take so much learning out of it.
“I believe that my receiving the Top Achiever’s Award is largely due to the Taylor’sphere nurturing ecosystem and community,” said Nikunj who recently graduated in January 2022.

Gearing up students for the tech future
With Industry 4.0 changing the dynamics of the future labour market, it has become a major priority for higher education institutions to prepare students for the roles of the future embedded in digitalisation and technology.
When it comes to tertiary education, the importance of a sound foundation cannot be overstated.
Students who begin their education with the appropriate foundation programme will find that they are more prepared for the educational journey ahead, having already acquired the skills and information required for a smooth transition to their desired programmes.
This August, Taylor’s flagship event Taylor’s Future Movement (TFM) is back for the fifth year with the theme Beyond Digitalisation.
Open to all, participants get to connect and network with a community of movers and shakers, as well as Taylor’s alumnus and industry partners, while learning from the very best in a wide variety of industries.
Held over two weekends from Aug 6 to 14, one of this year’s highlights is how the institution integrates digitalisation into its programmes through a series of XR immersive experiences – providing students with a more engaging learning experience. The line-up of programmes will also feature a series of workshops, discovery classes, exhibitions, and keynote sessions.
Specially curated for students looking to enrol in pre-university modules like CAL, SACE International, foundation and diploma programmes, the Taylor’s discovery classes would give participants an opportunity to experience the engaging learning styles and progression pathways offered by the institution.
TFM will also be organising a surf skating workshop, to teach participants the trending sport of surfing on land which has interested youths across the world.
TFM is an experience that introduces students to Taylor’sphere, a learning ecosystem and community that nurtures students’ intellectual, mental, and emotional growth.
