IIUM Debaters win Debating Tilt

Proving once again that they are the best of the best, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) brought home this year's top trophy in ABP.
Widely regarded in Asia, ABP is the second most prestigious debate competition.
IIUM speakers, Mubarrat Wassey (second row, third from right), an economics major, and Ameera Natasha Moore (second row, fourth from left), a law student, won the first and second overall best speaker awards respectively.
More than 80 teams from universities across the region, took part in the competition from 7-13 October, in Jakarta, Indonesia.
This year, IIUM debaters have also won other major titles- the Australasian Intervarsity Debating Championship (Australs) trophy in July and the United Asian Debating Championship (UADC) trophy last June. They are not looking forward to clinching the title World Universities Debating Championship (WUDC) in December in to be held in Thessaloniki, Greece.
