Attended by Ahmad Suhail bin Azmi of Technerd Lab, Chuang Vi Vian from 11street, and Begaiym Dzhanova of Furni Print, the students were treated to an afternoon of informative and insightful talks from our featured partners.
Azmi started the session with his talk on ‘Time Management.’ He shared that few years back, he has seen one of his coursemates forced to delay his graduation due to poor time management. He realised that it’s very important for students to understand the importance of prioritising, identifying the time-consuming activities, and set a deadline for each task. “No deadline is the worst,” he told the students.
Azmi is sharing the time management skill that had helped him a lot in his life, including founding his company.
Vi Vian, on the other hand, shared about “Building Your Own Online Business”. She highlighted that there are 59% active mobile internet users in Malaysia (approximately 18 million of the population), and Malaysians are most likely to conduct an online shopping in the next 12 months. This means there’s a huge potential of starting an online business in the country. Hence, her company is now offering the platform for any individual, including students, who are interested in starting an online business to earn extra pocket money while still pursuing their studies.
She also explained about the growing potential of online market place (OMP) in Malaysia.
Last but not least, Begaiym shared her experience as a student who studied abroad. Originally from Kyrgyzstan, she came to Malaysia to study for the first time. She runs through the application process, saying it was smooth but it wasn’t easy for a young lady who couldn’t speak fluent English to participate in the class. On top of that, she pursued foundation in Communication and continued to a degree in Mass Communication focusing on PR and Journalism. Her never-give-up spirit has brought her from an international student to becoming a Director of Marketing in her friend’s start-up company.
“Don’t be afraid of taking up challenges. You won’t know what it’ll bring to you,” she said.
Before ending the sessions, 11street gave out masks and discount coupons to the students who participated the Q&A sessions.
Once again, thanks to MAHSA University for providing the venue, to the speakers who made this event happened, and we appreciate all students who joined us.
