Bett Asia 2019: Transforming Education

Bett Asia, the leading frontier in education technology summits, had the fifth instalment of the Bett Asia summit on the 12th and 13th of March. We saw some of the worlds greatest leaders in education technology come together with the focus of gearing towards 21st century learning.

This two-day event was officiated by YB Dr. Maszlee bin Malik, Minister of Education, Malaysia, YB Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman, Minister of Education, Brunei and Mr. Jesus L.R. Mateo, Undersecretary at Department of Education of the Philippines as the ministerial panel. Together they highlighted the need for building a change to deliver 21st century learning while emphasizing on the respective plans of their countries in adapting for the future of learning.

With a prestigious panel of speakers, this summit brought to light many real concerns that the Asia-Pacific region would face in moving forward with the current education revolution. Bett Asia’s and sponsors (Microsoft, Lenovo and Classera) had given their keynote presentations on the first day. The following speakers were educators and education consultants who shared their own successes and struggles in adopting a 21st century learning.

It is said that 2 million jobs will disappear over the next 10 years. Most jobs will also see a tremendous change in the way they operate due to technological advancements. In fact, some fields of study will also lose its relevance all together.
