In conjunction with MARA’s 50th anniversary, Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) is giving 50% discount for the lump sum payment by those who took loans before 2010.
Six years ago, MARA had decided that those who took its student loans should repay only between 10% and 20% of their full loan amount.
However, the discount was applicable for students who took loans after 2010. Due to the complaints received from students who took loans before 2010, MARA decided to introduce another offer for them too.
“That policy was however only applicable to those who took loans in 2010 onwards, so we recently decided that for those who took student loans before 2010, they only need to pay 50% of their current outstanding balance,” said MARA Chairman Tan Sri Annuar Musa.
He is hoping this offer can encourage students to payback the old loans so that they can utilise the money to finance the current students.
